What if your next massage could be something you don’t just hear or feel—but experience with your whole body?
Coming soon to Somatic Massage Therapy & Spa, Vibroacoustic Therapy in Floral Park introduces a new sensory layer to your massage experience.
Gentle low-frequency sound vibrations are delivered through the massage table while you relax, creating an immersive combination of sound, touch, and bodywork.
The goal is simple:
Help you disconnect from the outside world and sink more deeply into your massage.
If you sometimes find that your body is on the massage table but your mind is still running through tomorrow’s schedule, unanswered messages, work, family, and everything else waiting for you, this enhancement was created with that experience in mind.
What Is Vibroacoustic Therapy?
Vibroacoustic Therapy combines sound and gentle physical vibration.
Instead of listening to relaxing sound alone, the low-frequency vibrations can also be felt through the massage table beneath you.
Think of it as adding another sensory dimension to your massage.
You are already experiencing the therapist’s touch. Now the table itself provides a subtle rhythmic vibration that complements the relaxing environment around you.
The result is an experience that can feel deeply immersive without requiring you to do anything.
No exercises.
No complicated instructions.
No effort to meditate perfectly.
You simply settle onto the table and allow yourself to experience it.
Why Add Vibroacoustic Therapy to a Massage?
A massage can already create an opportunity to disconnect from a busy day.
Vibroacoustic Therapy is designed to take that experience one step further.
Clients may choose this enhancement when they want to:
- Settle more deeply into relaxation
- Quiet a busy or overstimulated mind
- Create a more immersive massage experience
- Unwind from everyday stress and tension
- Experience something different from a traditional massage
- Give themselves dedicated time to mentally disconnect
- Enhance the overall sensory experience of their session
And perhaps the biggest benefit is something many of us don’t give ourselves often enough:
Permission to stop.
For a little while, there is nowhere else you need to be.
What Does Vibroacoustic Therapy Feel Like?
This is usually one of the first questions people ask.
The sensation is not intended to feel aggressive or jarring.
Instead, imagine gentle rhythmic vibrations moving through the massage table while soothing sound surrounds you.
You may notice different areas of your body experiencing the vibration differently depending on your position and the sound being played.
Some people may focus on the sensation.
Others may gradually stop paying attention to it altogether as they become more relaxed.
There is no “correct” way to experience Vibroacoustic Therapy.
Your job is simply to get comfortable.
Your Massage Isn’t Longer—It’s More Immersive
Here’s an important distinction.
Our Vibroacoustic Therapy experience is a 30-minute massage enhancement.
It takes place during your scheduled massage rather than adding another 30 minutes to your appointment.
That means you can elevate part of your massage without having to significantly rearrange your day.
For clients with full schedules, this is one of the features that makes the enhancement particularly appealing.
You’re already here for your massage.
We’re simply helping you get more from the experience.
For the Person Whose Mind Never Seems to Turn Off

You know the feeling.
Your massage begins.
The room is peaceful.
Your therapist starts working.
And your brain decides this is the perfect time to remember everything you’ve forgotten to do for the past three weeks.
Sound familiar?
One reason we’re excited about Vibroacoustic Therapy is its ability to create a more absorbing sensory environment.
Instead of relying on your mind to decide that it is finally time to relax, sound, vibration, touch, and the treatment environment work together to give your attention somewhere else to go.
Sometimes relaxation doesn’t need another instruction.
It needs fewer distractions.
A Different Kind of Massage Enhancement
There are plenty of ways to customize a massage.
But Vibroacoustic Therapy is different because it doesn’t simply add another technique to the therapist’s hands.
It changes the environment in which you experience the massage.
You don’t just hear the sound.
You feel it.
That distinction is what makes the experience so unique.
The massage itself remains the foundation of your session, while Vibroacoustic Therapy becomes an additional layer around it.
For clients who already love massage but want to explore a new level of relaxation, this may become a favorite enhancement.
Why We’re Bringing Vibroacoustic Therapy to Somatic
At Somatic Massage Therapy & Spa, we don’t believe every client needs the same experience.
Some people come in because their bodies feel tense.
Some need an hour away from constant responsibilities.
Others simply want to feel cared for and leave feeling more like themselves again.
That is why we continue to look for thoughtful ways to personalize the massage experience around the person on the table.
Vibroacoustic Therapy gives us another way to do exactly that.
It isn’t meant to replace skilled massage therapy.
It complements it.
Your massage remains personalized to your goals, comfort level, and preferences.
The Vibroacoustic Therapy enhancement simply creates another opportunity to settle into the experience.
A 30-Minute Upgrade That Can Change the Feel of Your Session
You don’t always need a completely different treatment to make your next spa visit feel different.
Sometimes one carefully chosen enhancement changes the entire experience.
Adding Vibroacoustic Therapy gives part of your massage a completely different sensory quality while keeping your existing appointment intact.
That makes it especially appealing if you:
- Already receive massage regularly
- Want to make your next massage feel more special
- Have difficulty mentally switching off
- Enjoy music and sensory relaxation
- Want to try something new without booking a separate service
- Are intentionally making relaxation a greater priority
Sometimes the best self-care upgrade isn’t more time.
It’s making the time you’ve already reserved feel more meaningful.
What Should I Bring?
You do not need special clothing or equipment for the Vibroacoustic Therapy portion of your massage.
For clients who want a more immersive audio experience, you may bring your own wired headphones.
Please note that Bluetooth headphones are not compatible with our current system.
If you bring wired headphones, we recommend choosing a pair with a cable long enough to remain comfortable while you are positioned on the massage table.
You are also welcome to bring your own eye mask if you enjoy reducing light while relaxing.
For sanitation purposes, Somatic will not provide shared headphones or reusable shared eye masks for this enhancement.
Limited Availability by Design

Our Vibroacoustic Therapy experience will initially be available in our Serenity singles treatment room.
That means availability will be intentionally limited.
Only appointments scheduled in the appropriate treatment room can include the experience, and the equipment cannot be used for multiple appointments at the same time.
So while this is not artificial “limited-time” marketing, there is a practical reason to reserve it ahead of time.
If you know you’d like to experience it with your massage, don’t wait until you arrive to ask.
Advance requests will give you the best chance of securing an eligible appointment.
Is Vibroacoustic Therapy Right for You?
You may especially enjoy this enhancement if your idea of a great massage is:
“I want to completely disappear for an hour.”
It may also appeal to you if traditional relaxation is difficult because your mind stays active even when your body is resting.
Vibroacoustic Therapy is not about forcing relaxation.
It’s about creating an environment where relaxation may come more naturally.
And sometimes that’s exactly what a busy body and busy mind need.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is Vibroacoustic Therapy a separate appointment?
No. At Somatic, Vibroacoustic Therapy is offered as a 30-minute massage add-on and takes place during your scheduled massage.
Does it add 30 minutes to my massage?
No. The enhancement is incorporated into your existing massage time.
Can I use Bluetooth headphones?
No. Bluetooth headphones are not compatible with our Vibroacoustic Therapy system.
Can I bring my own headphones?
Yes. You may bring your own wired headphones. We recommend a sufficiently long cable so you can remain comfortable on the massage table.
Can I bring an eye mask?
Absolutely. You’re welcome to bring your own eye mask.
Will Somatic provide headphones or reusable eye masks?
No. For sanitation purposes, we will not use shared headphones or reusable shared eye masks for this service.
Is Vibroacoustic Therapy available with every massage appointment?
Not necessarily. Our system is initially located in the Serenity singles room, so availability depends on the room and appointment schedule.
Do I need to request it ahead of time?
We strongly recommend it. Because only one treatment room currently offers Vibroacoustic Therapy, advance requests give you a better chance of securing availability.
